Woodson ISD: A District of Innovation

Woodson ISD is proud to be designated as a District of Innovation, giving us the flexibility to design a school experience that best meets the needs of our students, families, and community.

Through this plan, Woodson ISD has the ability to:

• Set our own school calendar to support learning and community needs.

• Provide a 4-day school week, giving families more time together while maintaining high academic expectations.

• Offer innovative scheduling that allows for professional development, extracurricular activities, and real-world learning opportunities.

• Recruit and retain excellent teachers by allowing flexibility in staffing and training.

• Create local solutions for attendance, class sizes, and instructional time that put students first.

This innovation empowers Woodson ISD to remain student-centered, community-focused, and future-ready while preparing all students to “Be the Best You Can Be.”
